WeTransfer: savoirs situés et diasporiques.

Sur l’invitation de Bétonsalon - Centre d’art et de recherche, trois groupes de chercheurs et artistes ont proposé une série de tables rondes dédiées aux identités fragmentées, multiples et fragiles qui sont les nôtres. Chaque rencontre prend place au sein de l’exposition d’Emmanuelle Lainé Incremental Self : les corps transparents.

Partant du concept de carnivalisation des identités, les artistes Jean-François Boclé, Tarek Lakhrissi, Nathalie Muchamad et Mükerrem Tuncay échangeront à partir de leur production vidéo autour des notions de désidentification, de créolisation et du carnaval comme politique des corps.

Tarek Lakhrissi interviendra à propos de films et de textes, sur la question du langage et de la poésie comme utopies pour se retrouver à soi-même.

Mükerrem Tuncay présentera la vidéo Great Depression, métaphore de son statut « d'étrangère ».

Nathalie Muchamad abordera le syncrétisme de la situation indonésienne, se demandant s'il peut être un espace de réflexion au même titre que le processus de créolisation à l'œuvre dans l'espace des Caraïbes françaises.

Jean-François Boclé projettera dialogo 1, AS.SAU.PA.MAR. Akiyo y Voukoum, réalisée en duo avec l’artiste Minia Biabiany (unity IS SUBMARINE) en 2016.

Cette table ronde sera ponctuée par deux courtes interventions en vidéoconférence :

Claire Tancons, commissaire d’exposition basée à la Nouvelle-Orléans (Louisiane, Etats-Unis), commentera sa pratique curatoriale.

Le Mémorial ACTe, Centre caribéen d'expressions et de mémoire de la traite et de l’esclavage à Pointe-à-Pitre, parlera de son action et évoquera la place du carnaval au sein de la société caribéo-française qu'est la Guadeloupe.

"WeTransfer: Diasporic and Situated Knowledge"

Bétonsalon – Center for Art and Research invited three groups of researchers and artists to propose a series of public programs dedicated to the multiplicity and fragility of contemporary identities. Each event will take place within Emmanuelle Lainé’s exhibition Incremental Self: Transparent Bodies.

Drawing from the concept of the carnivalization of identities, artists Jean-François Boclé, Tarek Lakhrissi, Nathalie Muchamad and Mükerrem Tuncay will discuss concepts of disidentification, creolization and carnival, elaborating on their own video works.

Tarek Lakhrissi will talk about films and texts addressing language and poetry as utopias necessary to find oneself.

Mükerrem Tuncay will present the video Great Depression; a metaphorical means to address her “foreign” status.

Nathalie Muchamad will talk about the syncretism of the Indonesian context, wondering whether it can be perceived as a space for reflection similar to the creolization process undergoing in the French Caribbean.

Jean-François Boclé will screen dialogo 1, AS.SAU.PA.MAR. Akiyo y Voukoum,a film made with the artist Mina Biabiany (unity IS SUBMARINE) in 2016.

This round table will be punctuated by two short videoconferences:

Claire Tancons, curator, based in New Orleans (Louisiana, United States of America), will comment on her curatorial practice.

The MEMORIAL ACTe, Caribbean Center of Expression and Memory of Slavery and Slave Trade based in Pointe-à-Pitre, will comment on its action and focus on the function of carnivals within the Guadeloupean Caribbean-French society.
