Aujourd’hui en ruine, l’église abbatiale est réduite à l’essentiel, sa fondation. Un modeste terrassement comme ultime vestige en forme le contour.
Pour l’artiste Francis BENINCÀ, il est un appel à l’élévation ; architecturale, spirituelle, intellectuelle, énergétique.
Par un travail de sculpture, l’esquisse d’une partie du bâtiment se révèle dans l’espace avec la force de notre imaginaire.
Il suffit de quelques tiges d’acier, comme des traits de crayon, pour guider notre œil et laisser notre cerveau projeter les volumes disparus.
Invité en 2025, avec l’installation Élévation, l’artiste a réalisé la grande porte de la nef ainsi que la porte des morts. Il joue les prolongations en 2026 et donne à voir deux chapelles avec Élévation II.
