Dear Members and friends,
On Thursday the 24th of August, we have again reserved one of the finest Cannes Croisette beach restaurants for an international fireworks concert. It should be a marvellous and awe-inspiring evening as Cannes arranges the fabulous fireworks and synchronized music from several barges moored opposite us in the Bay of Cannes.
This is a fireworks competition and on the 24th of August, the prizes will be announced and then the (out-of-competition) display will be by an Italian company with the theme: Fireworks, Music and Cinema” dedicated to three dates:
- the 80th anniversary of the passing of Maurice Ravel
- the 70th anniversary of the Cannes Film Festival
- and 50 years ago – on 24 August 1967 – the first Cannes International Fireworks Festival
The 24th of August is always the finale of the Fireworks Festival, in celebration of the day in 1944 when Cannes was liberated. We will be honored to have with us on this evening George C. Kundahl, author of the recently published book “The Riviera at War – World War II on the Côte d’Azur.”
George is a retired U.S. Amy Major General, and a published military historian. He will speak to us about this remarkable (and relatively unknown) period and the significance of the invasion of the Riviera by the Allied forces. George Kundahl will also be pleased to sign copies of his book for those who wish to acquire it.Time: Thursday 24th August at 8pm
Price: ((inclusive of apero, 3-course dinner, waters, wines, coffee and firework concert):

Guests 90 Euros
Children under 12 (no alcohol) 40 Euros.
Important: Please confirm your reservation as soon as possible, but no later than Monday 21st August, unless sold out before. Previously our events have been sold out prior to the final date. Without payment your reservation cannot be confirmed. There will be no payments accepted at the beach. Cancellations past Monday 21st August are not refundable. When booking please advise seating preferences and guest names.

Address: The 3.14 Plage Restaurant on the Croisette (across from the Carlton Hotel, bottom of rue Canada)
Parking: Nearest public parking is at the Marriott Hotel (formerly Palais Stephanie and formerly the Hilton). Another possibility is the station car park entrance from the Voie Rapide. After parking take the elevator down to the ground floor and walk south. This is the easiest parking for getting out of Cannes quickly after the firework concert. Otherwise any of the streets surrounding or further away on the boulevard de la Croisette towards Palm Beach (east).
