Le Palais de Tokyo inaugure son nouveau programme de résidence performative, La Manutention. D’octobre à juillet, six artistes émergents sont invités en résidence, pour une période d’un mois chacun. Chaque résident développe un projet de performance inédit et imagine un rendez-vous hebdomadaire autour de son univers, en conviant notamment d’autres artistes à intervenir et penser de nouveaux formats.

A l'occasion de la première soirée de sa résidence, Paul Maheke invite Ève Chabanon et Cédric Fauq.

Ève Chabanon - Antisocial Social Club #2

Ève Chabanon introduit la série de performances Anti Social Social Club, avec la présentation du premier épisode : « The Chamber Of The Dispossessed » suivi d'une expérimentation autour de l'épisode 2 : « Banging Your Head Against The Brick Wall Job ». Autour du texte « How Not To Do Things With Words » de Sara Ahmed, il y sera question de «non-performativité» ou de comment les mots sont souvent utilisés pour éviter l'action.


Cédric Fauq + Paul Maheke - SQUAD #2

A la suite de SQUAD, l'artiste Paul Maheke et le commissaire Cédric Fauq proposent un nouveau format centré autour des subjectivités de la « Black Femme ».
Sous forme d'un collage explorant la multiplicité des voix qui coexistent aujourd'hui dans le monde, en utilisant des textes, des images trouvées, des sons et à travers les œuvres de l'artiste visuelle Minia Biabiany (FR / MX), SQUAD aspire à la constitution d'une Histoire éphémère mais critique des résistances

Paul Maheke (né en 1985, en France) poursuit son exploration, à travers la musique et la danse, de questions liés à l'émancipation, au collectif et à la naissance d'identités parallèles et alternatives.

Palais de Tokyo is inaugurating its new program of performative residencies, La Manutention. From October to July, six emergent artists have been invited to take up residencies at the Palais, each for a period of one month. Each resident develops an original performance project and imagines a weekly rendezvous around their universe, also inviting other artists to contribute and invent new formats.

For his first event as a part of his residency, Paul Maheke invites Ève Chabanon and Cédric Fauq.

Following a first iteration of SQUAD, the artist Paul Maheke and curator Cédric Fauq will develop a new format centered on "Black Femme" subjectivities.
Taking the form of a collage exploring the multiplicity of voices coexisting in the world of today, using texts, found footage, sounds and through the works of visual artist Minia Biabiany (FR/MX), SQUAD aspires to the constitution of an ephemeral yet critical History of resistances.
