A place I belong To : Exhibition by Jacques Nkinzingabo Is a major exhibition, which raises questions regarding Cultural Awareness and the politics of representation by portraying African youth faces using the conventions of understanding
their culture diversity.
This exhibition seeks to unpack the factors that invent new identities and ways of seeing within and understanding culture diversity in Arica. Jacques has been travelling in Kenya, Uganda, Congo, Burundi and Rwanda for photographing the diverse people and Places.
ARTIST
Born (1994) and raised in Rwanda, Jacques Nkinzingabo In Genocide against Tutsi in Rwanda 1994, his family struggled with financial difficulties and moved from the Southern province to Kigali capital in search of a better life.
Jacques is a self-taught photographer who picked up a camera by Accident in 2009 andturned Professional in the End of 2013 specializing in documentary photography.
Making pictures it’s his way of reclaiming his artistic side.
His work focuses on environmental and living conditions over time, especially of socially isolated groups.
Jacques ́s photography artwork focuses on political, social and cultural issues. In his photography, he deals with the complex reality of human labor and the environmental conditions evolving over the times, using the images he captures as a form of visual confrontation that state a line of reflection to the reality.
