Elle est une fervente admiratrice d'Ella Fitzgerald et étudie le "scat" avec précision et technique pour le maîtriser à sa manière. Ella, celle qui chantait avec les cigales, douée d’une agilité vocale peu commune avec un registre de trois octaves, est connue pour son interprétation magistrale de tous les standards à travers une discographie impressionnante où l’on distingue sa maîtrise du scat et de l’improvisation.
