Pour lui, toutes ces esthétiques constituent des éléments essentiels du profond héritage créatif afro-américain dont il fait partie : «Tout vient du même arbre. », dit-il, « Ils ont simplement fleuri à partir de différentes branches.»
Trompettiste au son profond et expressif, il est lauréat du prestigieux Thelonious Monk Institute of Jazz, il s’est rapidement imposé sur la scène internationale avec des projets ambitieux, dont Modern Flows Vol. II, où se mêlent improvisation, groove et engagement.
