Le chanvre est de retour en Seine-et-Marne. Plante textile traditionnelle de la Brie, où elle était cultivée d'avantage que le lin, elle tomba en désuétude, victime du «progrès» et d’influences économiques diverses, au profit d’une autre tête d’assolement, la betterave, avant de faire son retour depuis presque 20 ans, comme un peu partout en France. Identifiée comme une plante dont la culture et les produits sont vertueux et respectueux de l’environnement, elle a de beaux jours devant elle, et notamment sur le futur territoire du Parc naturel régional de la Brie des Morins, à travers le groupement Planète Chanvre et l’entreprise Wall up.
Musée de société de territoire dont les collections ethnographiques sont liées à l’histoire rurale du département de Seine-et-Marne, le musée de la Seine-et-Marne renoue avec une exposition liée à l’agriculture et faisant le lien entre passé et présent agricole de son territoire.
En marge de l'exposition, la salle Atelier propose des jeux pour les plus jeunes sur le thème des cordes et de la piraterie, tandis que les familles peuvent s'exercer à la fabrication d'une corde.
À noter : À l'occasion du début de l'exposition "Chanvre", le Musée vous invite pour deux journées portes ouvertes, les 11 et 12 avril 2026. L'entrée sera gratuite pour tous, aux horaires suivants :
Samedi 11 avril de 14h00 à 17h30
Dimanche 12 avril de 10h00 à 12h30 et de 14h00 à 17h30.
